Description
The Pattern
This pattern was designed by Elmina Fors in the summer of 2023, originally for hand knitted mittens. ‘Kärlek’ is the Swedish word for ‘Love’ and literally translates to something like ‘Play of love’ or ‘Love game’. On the last picture you can see where the inspiration comes from – a smaller version of Kärlekens Ring by Tornedalens Hantverk. This is a ring that in it’s many forms have been used in the very North of Sweden as an engagement ring worn by the woman.
Measurements & Materials
Measurement: 45 x 60 cm
The front of the cushion is knitted in 100% Shetland wool with the pattern Kärlek. This is framed in a cream white boiled wool with hand embroidered large stitches arount the knitting. The back of the cushion is made in the cream white boiled wool.
Washing
Hand wash in cold/luke warm water with liquid detergent for wool. Do not work the wool too much when washing, as it makes the wool felt slightly. Dry flat or free hanging. Iron on wool setting with steam. The cushion does not have a zip at the side, if you get stains on the cushion, wash gently on the cushion and let dry.
