Description
The Pattern
This pattern was designed in January 2022 and is inspired by the beautiful wall painted stencil patterns at Gästgivars Hälsingegård. It is acctually an interpretation of two of the rooms in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can read more about the pattern and Hälsingegårdar (Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland) here.
Measurements & Materials
The front is knitted in 100% wool – Shetland wool & Merino Lambswool. The back is made from a woven fabric made from 100%% recycled wool. With the cushion cover comes the inner cushion with polyester filling. Measurements: 40 x 65 cm.
The back of the cushion has a plastic off white zip that runs across the middle of the cushion with inlays in contrast coloured woven wool fabric. The back is labeled with contents, elminas birch wood tag and washing instructions.
Washing
Hand wash in cold/luke warm water with liquid detergent for wool. Do not work the wool too much when washing, as it makes the wool felt slightly. Dry flat or free hanging. Iron on wool setting with steam.
About the making
All knitwear is designed and made by Elmina Fors in her studio in Hälsingland or the summer studio on the island Fjäderholmarna just outside Stockholm. Made in 100% natural fibres and inspiration from traditional dress, patterns and stylized folk painting around Sweden. Read more about the making and yarns here.
