Description
Ruta Pattern
This pattern was designed a couple of years ago after a visit to a traditional farmstead in Vittangi in the very North of Sweden. This style of patterning, with woven squares of varying sizes repeated all over the fabric, is prevalent all over Sweden. On the picture you can see the woolen, woven curtain in Vittangi I used for inspiration. These technique / style of woven fabrics are called Munkabälte and consist of different materials, colour combinations and pattern dimensions depending on where in Sweden they were made.
The shawl is knitted in a melange dyed cotton and lambswool with folded, hand stitched edges in a contrasting yellowish green.
Material: 50% soft lambswool, 50% melange dyed cotton
Size: 42cm x 184cm
Washing: Hand wash with liquid detergent for wool. Dry flat and iron with steam on a wool setting. This scarf will get more textured after wash, which can be ironed out with steam.
