I spent this weekend at Stenegård in Järvsö! Such a great time meeting people, talking to makers and customers, especially since it was the first market since this pandemic hit.
I had a stand with my mum Christina Lahti, who recently started her own business selling hand made ceramics. Of course, to a huge advantage for me and the rest of the family, her creations are beautiful and most of our homeware is now from her! You can find her on instagram here.
We spent a beautiful sunny Saturday at Stenegård, a place in Hälsingland that an astounding number of local businesses call home. Stenegård has been a meeting place for thousands of years and houses art & design shops, an old style apothecary, a bakery, art exhibitions, a restaurant and a great information centre for the local area. On top of this there is the Lill-Babs Museum at the premises – ever heard of her? Check out my favourite song of hers here!
Stenegård is a beautiful place to visit, and a great place to visit as a maker. With locally made cheeses, mustard, juices, cabbage & potatoes, pickles, as well as design – this market had it all! So I am happy to say we will both be coming back for the Christmas Market on the first of Advent, 4-5th December.
